Coastal Highway
A room full of sand
things got out of hand quickly
shovels in the air, the outlines of
man, sickening
Do they understand the feelings
of despair like we do
No one comprehends the way
our souls bend, we’re see through
Sitting by the sea
sipping cups of coffee in the daylight
eyes fixed far away, a smile
colored grey, life like
Why do the ignore a
face scarred by war, it’s selfish
No one has the courage
to shovel through the sewage
a death note.
